After earning a doctorate in psychology, Catherine enjoyed a career as a university professor and eventually led academic departments in Europe, Asia, and the U.S. Her marriage to a Foreign Service officer enabled her to pursue training in massage therapy (completed in 2008) and bring a new skill set and her spirit of adventure to living and working in Africa. As she and her husband and dog have recently resettled in Northern Virginia, Catherine still works with diplomacy and development projects overseas while also pursuing her desire to ease pain and promote wellness through massage.

As a psychologist, athlete, and yoga practitioner, Catherine is acutely sensitive to the ways the body, heart, and mind interact to keep us whole—or throw us off balance. She believes massage is a powerful means to promote optimum health—whether for reducing anxiety and stress, facilitating recovery from injury, improving posture and mobility, or simply enhancing the sense of well-being. Catherine specializes in integrative massage, tailoring the session to the client’s history and current needs, and incorporates Swedish, deep tissue, myofascial, orthopedic, and sports massage techniques.
